Working Decoys
Mallard drake working decoy bartered for a wood lathe. Sold
Hooded Merganser Drake in the collection of Dr Kambites (below) A gift of Thanks
Two of six commissioned hunting decoys. On the left is the black duck, the right is a Mallard Drake. SoldThe blue jay is my first jay carved using Tupelo wood and painted with acrylics. It is life size. Bartered.
This life size artic tern is a smoothie. It has no texture. It is carved with basswood and painted with acrylics. The painting was done on an extremely cold day with 3 feet of snow outside. The workshops wood stove had a hard time producing enough heat. At 50 degrees Farenheit I had a really long time to blend the colours. That was the only nice part about painting it other than I was taking a class with a good friend who was the instructor. Bartered.
This loon carving is one of many that I've carved. It is about 8 inches long, textured and painted with acrylics. Sold.
